Jesus' journey took Him to the cross and if we choose to follow Him, our steps will take us there as well. In the weeks leading up to Easter we are going to explore what it means personally to follow Jesus to the cross. What does it take for us to really get there? Where can we find the courage to follow Him? And where does Jesus want to take us from there?

As spring approaches the second season will begin on the new and improved Robert and Jacque Porter Memorial Garden. If you remember God blessed our little beginning by allowing us to donate almost a hundred pounds of fresh vegetables to the food bank last year. Plans are to quadruple the size of the plot this year. Keep your eyes open for how you can participate with this exciting venture and please keep it in your prayers. Stay tuned for our next update.

Forgiving Changes us Forever

Pastor Scott has done such a great job leading us through the series "Life's Healing Choices" we in Student Ministry wanted to strengthen the conversation on Tuesday nights. So at Overflow we have been discussing together the concept of forgiveness. Why is it so important to us in relationship to God and to others and how do we begin in practical ways to make forgiveness a habit. This last week we began to discover how an unwillingness to forgive someone literally begins to change how we perceive that person, and how we need to separate the "wrong" from the person in order to have our hearts not become hard against them. For some of us this might take some time because of how long we have known them and been living with a hurt or disappointment. This coming Tuesday the group will be focusing on looking around our community and seeing those whose hurts have changed their perspective of God and how we might be able to help them heal that relationship. Do you have an experience where forgiveness helped heal your relationship with someone you care for, try sharing that with your student this week as an encouragement to them and have a discussion about how forgiveness can set you free.

.

We are Xcited!

Why are we Xcited you might ask. Here's why! AT MCC Student Ministries are heart and focus is to help you the parents introduce your children into having a deep, powerful and life long relationship with Jesus Christ. So we want to use the best tools available to help that become a reality. That is why we are, this very week, beginning to use the XP3 student curriculum for our Overflow youth group. What is XP3, let's let them explain it as they can do it Best-

"XP3 stands for eXPerience 3. We believe there are three things every student should experience in student ministry (and in life)—three things they must experience in order for them to have a personal, vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ. Those three things are wonder, discovery and passion -- and they ultimately affect everything we do. They pull at our hearts, drive our behavior and capture our imagination. They are the levers our culture pulls to move us emotionally—to appeal to our souls."

We as a ministry team are Xtremely Xcited to use this top notch teaching curriculum in relationship with your students.
